Sara Mesa piše poeziju, kratke priče, romane i eseje. Dosad je objavila šest romana i tri zbirke priča, a za svoj je spisateljski rad višestruko nagrađivana.
Njezine zbirke priča No es fácil ser verde [Nije lako biti zelen; 2008.], La sobriedad del galápago [Trezvenost kornjače; 2009.] i osobito Mala letra [Loš rukopis; 2016.] stekle su veliku popularnost kod čitatelja, a kritika posebno hvali njezin sažet, napet, oštar stil pisanja te je smatra jednim od najzanimljivijih, najosobnijih glasova suvremene španjolske književnosti.
U svojim djelima često istražuje problematične, uznemirujuće međuljudske odnose, načine na koji ljudi zadržavaju bol za sebe i nanose je drugima te odstupanja od normi, izolaciju, opsesije i društveno licemjerje.
Rođena je u Madridu 1976. godine, a odrasla je u Sevilli.

Sara Mesa writes poetry, short stories, novels and essays. She has published six novels and three collections of stories and has won several prices for her literary work.
With her short story collections No es fácil ser verde [It’s Not Easy to Be Green; 2008], La sobriedad del galápago [The Sobriety of the Terrapin, 2009], and especially Mala letra (Bad Handwriting, 2016, translated to English), she has gained fame and critics have especially praised her concise, sharp writing style. She is considered one of the most interesting and personal voices writing in Spain today. In her works, she often researches problematic, unsettling human relationships, the ways we internalize pain and inflict it on others as well as deviation from norms, isolation, obsessions, and the hypocrisy of society.
She was born in Madrid in 1976 and has lived in Seville since childhood.
