Goran Samardzic

Goran Samardžić (1961, Bosnia and Herzegovina) is one of the prose-masters of former Yugoslavia. His stories combine kindness and brutality, prewar and postwar reality, the streets of Sarajevo and the streets of Belgrade. He was an editor in the cult Bosnian publishing house Buybook, as well as a guru for the younger generations. He says that he likes to believe that he understands love and all its nuances, that he would only kill or be killed for love, but that he is a bit too old for that game. It doesn’t show in his texts.
